About

Tami Rene is a singer-songwriter currently residing in Michigan, where she raised her family. Her own roots are based in Chicago in the 60s, where she was surrounded by a rich musical culture, with influences ranging from folk to rock to blues.  Beginning as a solo folk artist during high school, she moved into the rock/blues arena during college, performing as lead guitar and vocalist. Post-college, music was pursued on a part-time basis, while Tami achieved a career in electrical/construction engineering.  Tami relocated to Michigan with her engineering career, and enjoyed playing in some local bands, adding country music to her repertoire.   After retiring from engineering in the summer of 2018, Tami Rene began writing and performing at various open mics in the West Michigan area.

Tami’s songs reflect her life experiences, and they speak to the human need for social interaction and the importance of personal relationships in each individual life. Her song stylings range from folk to rock to blues (yes, and some country), reflecting her musical influences through the years. Whether you’ve already lived a lifetime or are just starting out, Tami’s music will speak to you in powerful ways.

From Local Spins review of GR Festival of the Arts on 6/4/2022

"Singer-songwriter Tami Rene performed a wholesome folk-rock set on Friday evening. Her soft voice accompanied by her bluesy acoustic guitar-playing drew a crowd under the tent at the diSuvero stage."
